Annual Forum 2005

The Dream Corps 2005 Forum was held on June 24 th at Beijing Rainbow Hotel. The forum concluded Dream Corps's 2005 summer volunteer activities in China Thirty Dream Corps volunteers from six teams together with forty guests from non-profit organizations in rural development and education development as well as scholars of relevant fields attended the day-long forum. Important guests include Mr. Xiqing Gao, vice-Chairman of the National Council for Social Security Fund, Professor Tiejun Wen, Dean of the School of Agricultural Economy and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, Mr. Laoshi Liu, Director of Chinese College Students Rural Support and ResearchTeam, Mr. Lifu Shang, President of West Sunshine Action, and Professor Hongguang Luo, director of Social Anthropology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Dream Corps Forum 2005 provided a chance for Dream Corps volunteers to share their stories working in China's rural schools with relevant non-profit community and experts. This has not only enabled Dream Corps itself to gather suggestions and reflect on its future development plan, but also provided China's rural assistance community an occasion to discuss some major issues of volunteerism in China and rural assistance, and learn from each others.
