New Sites:
At our new program sites, Dream Corps volunteers will focus on establishing the library infrastructure, decorating the facilities, systematically cataloguing all books, setting up a digital library management system, organizing activities centered on the "library month", and implementing basic reading programs. At our established sites, Dream Corps volunteers will be responsible for cataloguing the new books which have been donated, implementing more advanced reading programs, helping teachers to design reading classes, and promoting reading in student families and the wider community.
Dream Corps plans to donate 10,000 books and invite 30 librarians to our training in Beijing. To achieve this, the 2011 Summer Volunteer Program's fundraising goal is 201,346 RMB (30,693 $). So far, through Xinping Foundation and individual donors, we have raised 159,788 RMB (24,258 $). In order to support the 2011 Summer Volunteer Program, we still need to raise 41,555 RMB (6,335 $) to allow the school librarians to join our Beijing training sessions, as well as to supply the 12 programs sites with the required library and reading resources.

We thank all our donors, partners and alumni for their continued support of our annual volunteer program. In particular, we would like to welcome the 2011 volunteers for joining Dream Corps. We hope that you will share your story and Dream Corps' story with your families, friends and colleagues, so that more people who are interested in supporting education in rural China can join us in improving reading education in China's rural schools and communities.
As one donor, Ms. Contis said, she chose to give to Dream Corps because "the donations go directly to the cause and every child deserves the same educational opportunities. I have been privileged to meet these children in China first hand and to experience the warmth and positive light that fills their souls… just like my own children." Please join us in making better education opportunities a reality; please support Dream Corps!
