Grassroots Partners
Since its inception, Dream Corps has had the privilege to collaborate with many local people who share our vision. We could not do what we do without their invaluable support and participation. In the limited space below, we could only introduce a very few representatives of our long-term partners.
Wang, Yi
Formerly Principal of Beijing New Century Migrant Children School and founder of Sanchi Tang Education Consulting Center, Mr. Wang is a native of Xinjiang province and a veteran educator of migrant children. In the role of the director of New Century Dream Library in Zhufang Village, Qinghe, Beijing, he has been a close partner and a stout supporter of Dream Corps' efforts since 2005. Throughout the many relocations of the library, Mr. Wang kept the library's open. Each summer, he receives Dream Corps volunteers with enthusiasm, providing them with guidance and hospitality.
Jiang, Junsheng
As the Vice-Principal of Lingfang Township Central Elementary School in Chaling County, Hunan Province, Mr. Jiang's is not only an experienced teacher and school administrator, but also proficient in information technology, and an avid photographer. Lingfang Central Elementary School is the site of the very first Dream Corps supported library. Lead by Mr. Jiang, the active involvement of teachers and students in library activities made this site a success from its very beginning in 2004. Since then, he has led the expansion of the library's book collection through networking over the Internet and made the library operation fully autonomous. Reading activities, which are integrated with the school newspaper and radio programs, have become part of everyday life at Lingfang Central Elementary School. In 2008, Mr. Jiang helped Dream Corps launch a new library in neighboring Sicong Township.
Tu, Jiong
Mr. Tu is the deputy mayor of the town of Desheng, in Lichuan County, Jiangxi Province. In the fall 2004, through the support of Dream Corps, the Tu family set up a community library in the county seat, Rifeng, which was Dream Corps's first community library. Through the help of Mr. Tu, the Desheng Central Elementary School library was launched in 2006. Since then, he has assisted Dream Corps in communication with local authorities, supported our initiatives at the two libraries in Lichuan, and meticulously cared for our volunteers while on site, which has earned him a heartfelt "Big Brother Tu" from our volunteers.
